Description:
Night Nurse is an American psychological thriller written and directed by Georgia Bernstein in her feature-film directorial debut. The story follows Eleni Sadik (Cemre Paksoy), a young nurse who takes a night-shift position at an upscale retirement community, hoping to gain experience and build a career in healthcare. During her first shift, she is assigned to Douglas (Bruce McKenzie), an elderly resident whose apparent vulnerability conceals a disturbing secret. Eleni soon discovers that Douglas and his longtime caregiver, Mona (Eleonore Hendricks), are involved in a sophisticated telephone scam targeting unsuspecting victims. Initially uncomfortable with their activities, Eleni gradually becomes drawn into their scheme, where deception, role-playing and psychological manipulation begin to blur the boundaries between professional care and personal obsession. As her involvement deepens, the relationships between Eleni, Douglas and Mona grow increasingly volatile. When another nurse, Michelle (Colleen Rose Trundy), enters the picture, jealousy and suspicion push Eleni toward increasingly dangerous behavior. Set within the quiet, unsettling environment of a luxury retirement community, the film explores the abuse of trust, the vulnerability of elderly people and the disturbing consequences of emotional manipulation. Mimi Rogers appears as Dr. Mann in this atmospheric thriller, which gradually reveals how appearances can conceal a far more sinister reality.
