Description: “A Portion of My Soul” is the fourth episode of the second season of Outlander: Blood of My Blood, directed by Emer Conroy and written by Sarah H. Haught. As the Jacobite uprising intensifies, Ellen MacKenzie (Harriet Slater) and Grace Cameron (Ruby Fubara) travel through the Highlands to warn Brian Fraser (Jamie Roy) and Dougal MacKenzie (Sam Retford) that Lord Lovat (Tony Curran) intends to betray the Jacobite cause. Brian confronts his father and must choose between his Fraser heritage and the woman he loves. Rather than risk a direct confrontation with Lovat’s forces, Brian and Dougal consider joining the Jacobite army gathering under the Earl of Mar, despite their lingering distrust. Meanwhile, Henry Beauchamp (Jeremy Irvine) returns to eighteenth-century Scotland after his traumatic experiences in the future, only to be captured by the Grants. The scars left by electroconvulsive therapy are mistaken for marks associated with the supernatural, allowing him to escape harsher punishment. Julia Moriston (Hermione Corfield), thrilled to learn that Henry has returned, disguises herself as a man to reach him. Their reunion is emotional but complicated by Henry’s damaged memories and his confession about Seema (Lauren McQueen). As Julia struggles to process the betrayal, Seema’s jealousy turns dangerous. Elsewhere, the growing affection between Murtagh Fraser (Rory Alexander) and Grace threatens to provoke conflict, while Hugh Cameron (Bryan Dick) attempts to protect his cousin John from the consequences of the impending war. With Brian’s loyalties under scrutiny and Julia in danger, love and family are tested as the Highlands move closer to open conflict.
