Description: Shana is a 2026 French drama directed and co-written by Lila Pinell in her feature debut. The film follows Shana, a woman in her early thirties who moves through everyday life with restless energy, taking temporary jobs and relying on the close-knit group of friends around her. Her personal life becomes increasingly complicated because of her relationship with Moïse, a toxic troublemaker whose release from prison threatens to pull her back into a destructive cycle. When Shana's Moroccan Jewish grandmother dies, she leaves her granddaughter a family ring believed to possess mysterious protective powers and ward off bad luck. Shana soon finds herself facing a series of unexpected problems and strange coincidences, making the inherited object increasingly important to her. Eva Huault stars as Shana, with Noémie Lvovsky as her grandmother Yolande and Sékouba Doucouré as Moïse. Inès Anane, Anaïs Monah, Bettina de Van, Solal Bouloudnine, Sarah Benabdallah, and Anthony Sonigo also appear in the ensemble cast. As Shana struggles with unstable relationships, financial uncertainty, grief, and the consequences of her choices, the ring becomes a symbolic link to her family and heritage. Blending contemporary social realism with humor and subtle magical elements, Shana is ultimately a story about a young woman trying to regain control of her life and reconcile with herself.
