Little Trouble Girls follows 16-year-old Lucija, a quiet and introverted student at a Catholic school who joins the school's all-girls choir. There she becomes friends with Ana-Marija, an older and much more confident student whose outgoing personality immediately fascinates Lucija. When the choir travels to a countryside convent for an intensive rehearsal weekend, the unfamiliar surroundings give the girls an unusual sense of freedom.
Lucija's attention is soon drawn to a young restoration worker at the convent. Her growing attraction, combined with her increasingly complicated relationship with Ana-Marija, begins to disrupt the close-knit group. As Lucija experiences romantic and sexual feelings that conflict with the religious values she has been taught, she starts questioning her beliefs, her friendships and the expectations placed upon her.
Directed and co-written by Urška Djukić in her feature debut, the Slovenian coming-of-age drama stars Jara Sofija Ostan as Lucija and Mina Švajger as Ana-Marija. Saša Tabaković, Nataša Burger, Staša Popović, Mateja Strle and Saša Pavček also appear. The film is a co-production between Slovenia, Italy, Croatia and Serbia, is primarily in Slovenian and runs approximately 89 minutes. It premiered at the Berlinale in February 2025 and was released internationally during 2025–2026.
